      • Wire guardians

Used to finish a necklace/bracelet. Thread tiger tail/beading wire through wire gaurdian and attach clasps directly or with jump rings

      • Crimp beads

Can be used as beads, as spacers, or to end a necklace/bracelet: squash the crimp bead down over the beading wire to hold the wires in place

      • Jump rings

use to attach clasps to guardians, to attach beads to wire, to attach headpins to earing hooks etc.: open by twisting between fingers. Pressclosed with pliers.

      • Bead caps

Can be used to finish a bracelet/necklace, or as a bead/decoration, can be squeezed shut.

      • Split rings

Similar to jump rings but not as easy to open and close. Best used as part of keyring or clasp.

      • Tiger tail

Nylon thread, and very thin craft wire, even fishing gut may fulfil the same function.

      • Memory wire

Memory wire holds its shape, comes in ring, bracelet and neck sizes in silver, rosegold, brass and gold.

      • Beading wire

This comes in different thicknesses (called gauges), multiple colours, rounded, half-round, square and so on. Smaller gauges mean thicker wire.

      • Beads

Bead sizes are measured in mm and often refer to the size of the wire (so bead hole). Typically 4mm-10mm used on necklaces with bigger beads being accent/statement beads. Can use old/recycled materials as beads.

      • Headpins

Headpins have flat/rounded ends (like pins). They can also have jewelled ends. These are used dofr making earrings, and sometimes for making beads and bead loops.

      • Eye pins

Eye pins have a loop at the top, come in many different metal colours and can be used interchangeably with headpins.

      • Flat nose pliers

Commonly referred to as jewellery pliers, they have a wider surface, making them great for holding wires, and bending wire, even to sharp angles. The wider nose makes them stable for opening and closing jump rings. They can even be used to make loops.

      • Round nose pliers

These are used for forming a loop at the end of a wire and to form a variety of bends in wire.

      • Ring mandrel

Alternatives are koki pens, pritt/glue sticks, lipstick, nail polish jars, medicine bottles, rolling pins (bracelets), bottle tops, plumbing pipes, knitting needles etc.
